The art quilt is inspired by and abstracted from a photograph taken near Convict Lake in the Eastern Sierra at dusk (see image), and each of the nine colors in this quilt was carefully chosen to reference that color palette.
The Eastern Sierra stretches along the remote side of the Sierra Nevada Range in California and includes Mount Whitney (14,494 ft.), the highest mountain in the lower United States. The geologic landscape is a collage of contrasts, from ancient volcanic fields and glacial lakes, to steep woodlands and many forests of Quaking Aspen and Jeffrey Pine.
Artist designed and made in Los Angeles County, California.
