Bristlecone Pine Cloak

Bristlecone Pine Tree Cloak

55” (length) x 64” (chest) x 96" (hem) | fabric | 2021

The wearable art cloak was inspired by the spectacular trees of the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in the White Mountains, and the color palette intentionally resembles the highly variegated patches and striped colors of the twisted, textured bark. The high elevation forest, in California and slightly west of the Nevada state border, is home to the oldest documented tree living on earth, a 4,700-year-old Bristlecone Pine. These noble trees stand as powerful, living examples of aging with grace and relevance
